Inspiration
I drew inspiration from my creative writing project all the way back when I was in primary school. It was titled "Crystal's Adventure" dealing with a young girl exploring new adventures with her imaginary friend to keep her company. I decided to personify a commonly loved animal; the elephant. With their giant stature, I wanted kids aged 6-11 to recognize that their fears and worries can even affect such a gigantic creature.
Intention
Past the age of 5, it is crucial for children to develop their skills through reading and by introducing stigmatized mental health issues at an early age, they can begin to understand the signs within themselves or people around them to create a safer environment for everyone. Which is why I set my demographic to target children aged 6-11 and their parents/guardians. The book cover aims to deal with social anxiety through simplified terms and hopefully destigmatize it.
