Inspiration
I was inspired by vintage advertisements, more specifically the way it reached the masses that lacked morale and technological advancements. Succeeding the grim attitudes caused by war, advertisements were a way for the economy to bloom and grow. Mainly calling attention to the ideal, natural beauty, domesticated housewives were the perfect target of product promoters.

Target Audience
Consumer groups began to emerge and spending power became closely related with the “Teenager” as a rite of passage towards womanhood. Emphasizing naturality was key and therefore advertisements, of any kind, depicted the ideal woman with on tapered eyebrows, reddish pink lipsticks, and a creamy ivory-based foundation to match their natural pale skin color.
Design Choices
The dove, the shade of red and the depiction of the woman. These were all choices I made to symbolise femininity and liberty. I wanted to appeal to that desire of wanting to please a significant other but also to evoke freedom to the chains they might feel constricted to. The bold red provides contrast against the pale background and dove color which acts both as an incentive to purchasing the product as well grabbing the attention of women whose attention they believe they, with this lipstick, is their husbands’.
