Project Description
I worked with a group of RTA: Media Production students who were determined to create an experience for fellow students post-pandemic. Due to which many social interactions have been cancelled. Get Together gives the audience a chance to experience something that they have been deprived of during the multiple lockdowns; a party. An interactive film is an opportunity for the audience to be active members of the story being told. Not just living vicariously through the protagonist, but being the protagonist themselves. Playing in a virtual world provides the sense of safety and can act as a shield to learn from decisions. Making decisions in the midst of calamity, without actually being in danger.
What is the story?
Get Together is a live-action interactive short film that follows Val, a first year university student as she navigates the chronicles of her first university party, her shaky friendship with her best friend, and the love triangle with her love interest.
Pre-Production Paperwork
As the producer, I worked closely with the members of my team to create an outline and a script for our film. With the scenes in mind, I then created a shooting schedule paired with call sheets for our crew and actors to be aware of dates, timings, make-up and costume requirements as well as which scenes will be shot on which days. Doing this creates organization within the team and preparedness for any unforeseen complications that might come up throughout production.
